Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 May 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PolyQuote API ("the Service"), provided by Polyform Prints ("we", "us", "our"). By signing up for an API key or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

PolyQuote is a hosted API that calculates pricing for 3D-printed items based on inputs you supply (filament type, weight, print time, and markup). The Service returns a recommended sale price along with a breakdown of material and electricity costs. It is intended for use by 3D-print businesses, hobbyists, and resellers as a pricing aid — it does not guarantee any particular commercial outcome.

2. Accounts and API keys

To use the paid Service you must subscribe to a plan via our checkout. We will issue you a unique API key by email. You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential. Any use of the Service made via your API key — whether by you or by anyone you allow to use it — is your responsibility.

If you believe your key has been compromised, contact us at [email protected] and we will rotate it.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that breaches these acceptable-use terms, without refund.

4. Subscription terms

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. Your subscription will renew automatically each month at the prevailing rate until you cancel.

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Stripe customer portal or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access to your plan's full call quota until then.

We may change pricing or plan limits with at least 30 days' notice by email. If you do not agree to a change, you may cancel before it takes effect.

5. Refunds

We do not offer refunds for API calls already consumed during the billing period. If you cancel mid-month, no pro-rata refund is automatically issued. In exceptional circumstances — service outage, billing error, or other genuine issue — we may offer a partial or pro-rata refund at our discretion. Email [email protected] to discuss.

6. Service availability

The Service is provided on a best-effort basis. At this tier we do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee or service level agreement (SLA). We aim for high availability and will work to resolve outages promptly, but the Service may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, upstream provider issues, or unforeseen events. You should not rely on the Service as the sole input for time-critical business processes.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Polyform Prints' total aggregate liability to you in connection with the Service — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise — shall not exceed the total amount you have paid us in subscription fees in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

8. Intellectual property

All rights, title, and interest in the Service — including its software, branding, and documentation — remain with Polyform Prints. The numerical pricing output returned to you in response to your API requests is yours to use freely within your own business.

9. Termination

You may terminate your relationship with us at any time by cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or where we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect the Service, our users, or third parties. On termination, your API key will be deactivated.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Northern Ireland.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active subscribers at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
